Energy

energy-main

Tremendous amount of energy and water are demanded within our campus. We are committed to take necessary actions according to TRNC Energy Efficiency Strategy 2015-2023. In parallel with national policy, our target is aimed to reduce the amount of energy consumed per gross domestic product by 25% and reduce our CO2 emissions by 10% compared to 2012 levels respectively. For this aim, we aimed to increase the awareness on the use our resources effectively and reduce the consumption of resources. In order to reduce our impacts, we have started refurbishment of our existing buildings with energy efficient appliances and renewable opportunities respectively. Centrally managed heating and cooling systems have been installed in some buildings to maximize our benefits. Sustainability is the main theme for our future buildings. Therefore, we have an integrated design team to maximize the efficiency from the energy point of view. In addition, our commitment includes introduction of more renewable energy options on the campus.
