1. Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to reaffirm European University of Lefke’s commitment to preventing
all forms of forced labour, modern slavery, and human trafficking within our operations and supply
chains.
EUL uphold the highest ethical standards and comply with all applicable international and local
laws concerning labour and human rights.
2. Scope
This policy applies to:
All employees, contractors, and temporary workers of European University of Lefke.
All suppliers, vendors, agents, and business partners who conduct business with or on behalf of
European University of Lefke.
3. Policy Statement
EUL strictly prohibits:
The use of any form of forced, bonded, or indentured labour;
Human trafficking or the recruitment, transportation, or harboring of persons through coercion or
deception;
Retention of personal identification documents or withholding of wages as a means of control.
All work must be freely chosen, and workers must be free to leave employment upon reasonable
notice.
4. Responsibilities
Management: Ensure that internal practices and supplier relationships adhere to this policy.
Human Resources: Conduct due diligence, training, and awareness sessions for employees and
contractors.
Procurement: Assess and monitor suppliers to ensure compliance with anti-forced labour
requirements.
All Employees: Report any suspected violations immediately through the university’s Ethics
Hotline or designated reporting channels.
5. Reporting and Investigation
Any employee, supplier, or stakeholder who suspects forced labour or human trafficking is
encouraged to report concerns confidentially.EUL will promptly investigate all reports, maintain confidentiality, and take corrective actions as
necessary.
6. Compliance and Disciplinary Action
Violation of this policy may result in disciplinary action, termination of contracts, and/or reporting
to legal authorities.
Suppliers found in breach may face suspension or removal from the approved vendor list.
7. Review and Updates
This policy will be reviewed annually or whenever significant changes occur in related laws or
university operations.
