Access and Participation Policy

1. Purpose

This policy outlines Lefke European University’s (EUL) commitment to ensuring equitable

access, admission, and participation for women across all academic and administrative levels

to remove barriers that may prevent women from entering or thriving within higher education,

fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all stages of the student lifecycle — from application and admission to

ongoing participation and achievement — and covers all faculties, programs, and

administrative units within EUL.

3. Policy Statement

EUL is dedicated to promoting gender equality by ensuring that women have equal

opportunities to apply, be admitted, and fully participate in university life. The University

actively monitors and supports women’s engagement in education, research, and leadership

through targeted data collection, inclusive practices, and financial support mechanisms.

EUL encourages women to apply for all academic programs, including those where women are

traditionally underrepresented. EUL systematically monitors admission and entry rates for

women to ensure fairness and equity in recruitment and selection processes. EUL is committed

to ensuring that women not only access and enter the University but also thrive and succeed

during their studies.

4. Monitoring and Review

EUL continuously reviews and evaluates its access and participation initiatives through data-

driven assessment. The University’s Quality Assurance and Gender Equality Committees

jointly review gender-based statistics annually and recommend improvements to ensure

ongoing progress toward inclusivity and equity.

5. Conclusion

Through its Access and Participation Policy, Lefke European University reaffirms its

commitment to gender equality by promoting women’s access to higher education, ensuring

equitable entry, and supporting their active participation and advancement within the

University community. These efforts reflect EUL’s dedication to the principles of inclusion

and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender Equality.
