Yükselen Shared the EUL’s “Development Process” with the People of Lefke

European University of Lefke’s Evaluation Meeting was held at the Grand Amphitheater of the Faculty of Law at the European University of Lefke (EUL). The event saw strong participation from regional Members of Parliament, members of the EUL Board of Trustees, numerous businesspeople, private dormitory owners, investors, representatives of various non-governmental organizations, and administrators from regional high schools.

During the meeting, European University of Lefke Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Ali Yükselen delivered a comprehensive presentation. In his address, Prof. Yükselen explained that this traditional annual meeting provides an opportunity to share with the local community the developments that have taken place at the European University of Lefke, a state foundation university, over the past year. He noted that his presentation was organized under two main themes: Evaluation of the Completed Academic Year and Development Plan for the Upcoming Academic Year.

Prof. Yükselen provided a detailed analysis of the newly established academic programs, the increase in student numbers, and the resulting needs for additional classrooms, laboratories, and other infrastructure. He also addressed the growing demand for student housing and shared detailed data on current figures, along with projections for the upcoming year regarding student numbers and accommodation requirements.

Highlighting the current dormitory capacities in the region, Prof. Yükselen presented projections for the short- and medium-term needs for new dormitory facilities. He emphasized that the university aims to ensure that both students and the local community do not face any accommodation challenges in the coming academic year by aligning housing capacity with the projected growth.

Regarding necessary measures, Prof. Yükselen underlined the importance of supporting investments that promote social and cultural development in the region and encouraging investors to contribute to the local economyAt the end of his speech, he responded in detail to questions from local dormitory owners and businesspeople considering new investments, and expressed his gratitude to all participants for their valuable contributions and continued support.
