What is SDG 3?
Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3) is dedicated to ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages. The United Nations aims to achieve universal health coverage, address major health challenges, and ensure access to safe, effective, quality and affordable healthcare for everyone.
The United Nations’ Objectives
The United Nations envisions a world where everyone has access to the healthcare services they need without suffering financial hardship. SDG 3 addresses a wide range of health issues, including communicable and non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, and the availability of essential medicines.
European University of Lefke’s Commitment
European University of Lefke (EUL) supports and promotes the principles of SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-Being, ensuring healthy lives and well-being for all – by educating students, conducting research, offering health services, engaging in community outreach, and advocating for health equity. Through various medical related programmes, EUL offers the educational opportunity to becoming health professionals devoted to the health of the society. EUL academic community actively engages in research and initiatives that focuses on prevention, mental health, healthcare access, and addressing health disparities.
