Sustainable Development Goal 6 (SDG 6) is dedicated to ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all. The United Nations aims to achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water and sanitation for everyone.
The United Nations’ Objectives
The United Nations envisions a world where everyone has access to clean water and sanitation facilities, ensuring good health, dignity, and economic opportunities. SDG 6 addresses the need for efficient water use, wastewater management, and access to basic sanitation services to prevent waterborne diseases and improve overall well-being.
European University of Lefke’s Commitment
European University of Lefke (EUL) supports and promotes the principles of SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation, prioritizing sustainable water practices, ensuring clean and safe water access, and partnering with local and global communities. EUL academic community actively engages in research and initiatives that promote water conservation and sanitation measures on campus, fostering research on water management, and educating students and the wider community on water sustainability.
