What is SDG 11?
Sustainable Development Goal 11 (SDG 11) is dedicated to making cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable. The United Nations aims to ensure access for all to adequate, safe, and affordable housing and basic services and to upgrade slums.
The United Nations’ Objectives
The United Nations envisions a world where cities and communities prioritize the well-being of residents, promote sustainable urbanization, and provide equal access to opportunities. SDG 11 addresses the need for affordable housing, efficient public transportation, green spaces, and overall urban planning that enhances the quality of life.
European University of Lefke’s Commitment
European University of Lefke (EUL) supports and promotes the principles of SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities and recognizes the role of cities as hubs for innovation, diversity, and economic development. EUL offers the educational opportunity for students to acquire the knowledge and skills to becoming architects devoted to foster sustainable urban development, create inclusive and resilient cities, and promote environmental sustainability.
