SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals
Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development
What is SDG 17?
Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG 17) is dedicated to strengthening the means of implementation and revitalizing the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development. The United Nations aims to enhance global cooperation, encourage partnerships, and promote the sharing of knowledge, technology, and financial resources to achieve sustainable development goals.
The United Nations’ Objectives
The United Nations envisions a world where countries, organizations, and individuals collaborate effectively to achieve sustainable development. SDG 17 addresses the need for fostering partnerships, promoting knowledge-sharing, and mobilizing resources to implement and achieve the other Sustainable Development Goals.
European University of Lefke’s Commitment
European University of Lefke (EUL) is deeply committed to the principles of SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.
EUL collaborates with international research teams across Africa, Türkiye, and Europe to collect large-scale environmental, climate, and socio-economic datasets. These studies use remote sensing, GIS, econometric modelling, and satellite data (e.g., USGS Landsat, FAO, and World Bank datasets) to quantify SDG-relevant indicators such as land-use change, biomass energy transition, and carbon emissions.
