SDG 5 – Gender Equality

Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

What is SDG 5?

Sustainable Development Goal 5 (SDG 5), as defined by the United Nations, aims to achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls. It recognizes that gender equality is not only a fundamental human right but also a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous, and sustainable world.

The United Nations’ Objectives

The United Nations envisions a world where women and girls have equal opportunities in all areas of life, including education, employment, and participation in decision-making processes. SDG 5 strives to eliminate discrimination, violence, and harmful practices based on gender, ensuring that every individual, regardless of gender, has the chance to reach their full potential.
